The least known Sardinia is green! And this aspect of the island has amazed me since the first day. Usually, like almost everyone else, I used to think only of the coast and the sea, I didn’t know the interior of the island and I knew that its territory was, for about 80%, made up of hills and mountains.
The Sardinian coasts are magnificent but the interior is not less because it offers an incredible variety of landscapes most of which retain an unspoiled appearance able to put us in immediate contact with nature, transmitting strong feelings of peace and freedom.
In this photograph there is a glimpse of the Marmilla region in the south of the island. Granary of Italy since Roman times, Marmilla is an expanse of fertile fields where the plain alternates with forests and rolling hills. Travelling in this quiet and peaceful area, along deserted roads and enjoying a varied panorama is an experience to be tried in all seasons because the colours change completely and you can find yourself immersed in infinite shades of green, as in the photo, or among expanses of colourful flowers and fragrant that give way to golden fields with ears of ripe wheat swaying in the wind. Those who come from the big cities, from the congested and chaotic traffic, from the stress caused by the expanses of concrete here remains ecstatic and observe the views flowing around us while we walk along deserted roads, free our minds and relax in the moment because it is holiday.
